MEL’S HISTORY
Even though Mel was dreaming of becoming a writer ever since she was given her first story assignment in elementary school, Mel’s Writing Joint only opened its doors in 2018. After having learned the storytelling basics while getting her Bachelor’s at the University of Tuebingen in Rhetoric and Media Science, Mel began working in the industry as an online editor for the German Broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1. She later switched from feeding the Social Media channels to the editorial team for US Fiction Series where she helped help pick the freshest shows and prepare them with high quality dubbing. Soon enough Mel realized she was more drawn to creating TV shows herself. In 2016 she used all her days of leave and money to participate in the Summer Programme of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In these classes she was taught the screenwriting craft by some of the best professionals of the world. Back in Germany, Mel was determined to bring her newly gained training into action by starting a freelance writing career. Since then Mel’s as a family owned business prides itself on serving made-from-scratch comfort writing for every taste.
